Make your own Compass

Outline: Make a compass in 60 seconds.

Needed: A magnet, a pin/needle, a cup, water.

1. Stroke the pin with the magnet repeatededly in one direction.

2. Stick this through the malteaser.

3. Drop it in the cup. It point's north.

This is easy to do with a group as you can buy 20 disposeble cups for next to nothing. You only need to pass one or two magnets around.

NB: Some pins or paperclips work, some don't. Test with a magnet. If it sticks to the magnet, then it works. If not, don't use it.
